About this expansion
Neo Genesis is the first set in the Neo series of the Pokémon TCG, released December 16, 2000, and marks the game's transition into the Gold & Silver (Johto) era. The expansion contains many first printings of Johto-region Pokémon, including the final evolutions of the new starters and the introduction of Baby Pokémon to the card game. It is notable to collectors and players for flagship cards such as Lugia and for supplying a large portion of the early-2000s competitive card pool from the Neo block.
