About this expansion
Great Encounters (dp4) is the fourth expansion in the Diamond & Pearl series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, released in early 2008. The set adds a mix of Sinnoh-region Pokémon, Trainer cards, and special holo cards that expanded the card pool for the Diamond & Pearl competitive rotation. Players used cards from Great Encounters to update and diversify their Diamond & Pearl-era decks and explore new strategies.
