About this expansion
Expedition Base Set is the first English release in the Pokémon e-Card series, issued in September 2002. The set is notable for including e-Reader dot codes on many cards that could be scanned with Nintendo’s e-Reader accessory to access additional card data and unlockable content. Players used Expedition cards for deckbuilding and casual or competitive play in the era when it was legal, and collectors often seek the set for its e-Reader features and the era-specific holo and rare card prints.
