It provides Metal Energy and its text reduces damage done to the Pokémon it is attached to by 10, and if attached to a non‑Metal Pokémon it reduces that Pokémon's damage by 10 before Weakness and Resistance. The combination of energy provision and damage mitigation makes it useful in decks that want to soften incoming hits while still accessing Metal Energy.
