The Balrog, Durin's Bane (PLTR-195s foil) is a legendary creature — Avatar Demon from the Tales of Middle-earth Promos set. It has haste, a sacrifice-based cost reduction that can reduce its mana cost down to a minimum of {B}{R}, and is only blockable by legendary creatures. When it dies, it triggers a destroy effect targeting an opponent's artifact or creature, providing a built-in removal option.
