Whenever you cast a spell whose mana value equals one plus the number of soul counters on it, you put a soul counter on it and create a 2/2 white Spirit with flying. Once it has five or more soul counters, it gives your Spirits +3/+3, shifting the card from token generation into a large anthem effect.
