About this expansion
Neo Discovery (neo2) is the second Neo-series expansion released on May 31, 2001 during the Gold & Silver era of the Pokémon TCG. The set introduced numerous Johto-region Pokémon to the card game, expanding available Stage 1 and Stage 2 evolution lines beyond the Base Set era. Collectors and players note Neo Discovery for its holographic rare cards and distinct Johto-themed artwork, and its cards were folded into tournament decks and collector interests throughout the early-2000s organized-play environment.
