Extirpate (TSR 114) is a black instant from Time Spiral Remastered that carries the Split second keyword. It exiles all cards with the same name as a chosen nonbasic-land card from a target player's graveyard, and then lets you search that player's graveyard, hand, and library to exile any other copies before they shuffle. Its split second prevents opponents from casting spells or activating non-mana abilities while it’s on the stack, making it a powerful disruption against recursion and combo decks.
