It can tap for colorless mana and has an activated ability that for 2 and tapping plus sacrificing itself destroys a target nonbasic land an opponent controls while each player searches their library for a basic land and puts it onto the battlefield. The card is commonly used to deal with problematic nonbasic lands while providing a basic-land replacement for both players, making it both a disruption and fixing tool.
