Three Steps Ahead (OTJ-323) is a rare instant that uses the new Spree mechanic and has a {U} mana cost. As you cast it you choose and pay one or more additional costs to select modes that can counter a spell, create a token copy of an artifact or creature you control, or draw two then discard one. Its modular options let it function both as disruption and as a value engine for blue decks depending on which modes you pay for.
