At the beginning of combat on your turn you may pay {E}{E}{E} to put a +1/+1 counter on it, and whenever it attacks it doubles its power until end of turn. When it deals excess combat damage to a creature you gain that much energy, enabling growth over multiple turns and interactions with energy synergies.
