You may pay 3 to remove an ice counter, and when it has no ice counters you must sacrifice it to create Marit Lage, a legendary 20/20 black Avatar creature token with flying and indestructible. Originally printed in Coldsnap and reprinted in subsequent sets, Dark Depths is a legendary snow land that creates the iconic Marit Lage token when its ice counters are removed.
