Play Claw Fossil as if it were a Basic Pokémon. While in play, Claw Fossil counts as a Colorless Pokémon (instead of a Trainer card). Claw Fossil has no attacks of its own, can't retreat, and can't be affected by any Special Conditions. If Claw Fossil is Knocked Out, it doesn't count as a Knocked Out Pokémon. (Discard it anyway.) Claw Fossil (ex2-90) is a Trainer Item card printed to be played as if it were a Basic Colorless Pokémon from the Sandstorm set. It has no attacks, cannot retreat or be affected by Special Conditions, and can be discarded from play during your turn. Its Poké‑Body, Jagged Stone, places one damage counter on an attacking Pokémon when Claw Fossil (as your Active Pokémon) is damaged, even if it is Knocked Out.
