When cast you choose one or more modes causing all players to each discard two cards, each lose 4 life, and/or each sacrifice two creatures, with choices for discard and sacrifice made in turn order and executed simultaneously. The spell's modal design lets it act as hand disruption, a board wipe of small creatures, or a direct-life effect depending on which modes you pick.
