Its static replacement effect exiles cards from the top of your library instead of paying life while your library has enough cards, altering life-payment costs. It also has loyalty abilities to exile one of the top two cards for card selection, create two 1/1 black Nightmare tokens that can grow if cards were exiled that turn, and a −7 ultimate that forces a player to exile cards equal to the total mana value of cards you own in exile.
