Smokestack (VMA 282, Rare) is an artifact from Vintage Masters that slowly accumulates soot counters and forces sacrifices each upkeep. During each player's upkeep, that player must sacrifice a permanent for each soot counter on Smokestack, and you may add an additional soot counter to it during your upkeep. The card serves as a long-term attrition engine that pressures opponents' resources and can be used to stabilize or grind out advantage in slower decks.
