Shelter (VMA 44) is a white instant from Vintage Masters that grants protection from a chosen color to a creature you control until end of turn. It also lets you draw a card after resolving. The spell can render certain targets illegal as it resolves, but the draw still occurs even if the protection makes the creature an illegal target.
