Defensive Formation (USG 9) is a white enchantment from Urza's Saga. It makes the defending player, rather than the attacking player, assign the combat damage of each creature attacking them and allows dividing an attacking creature's damage among any creatures blocking it. This effect also applies to interactions like trample, letting the defending player choose alternative damage assignment options.
