Staff of the Letter Magus (UST #159, foil) is an Unstable artifact with a humorous entry trigger that asks you to choose a consonant other than N, R, S, or T as it enters the battlefield. Whenever any player casts a spell, you gain 1 life for each occurrence of the chosen letter in that spell's name, creating a gimmick that rewards tracking card names rather than typical game resources. Unstable is a silver-bordered, joke set released in 2017 and not legal in most sanctioned formats.
