It has an activated ability for 2 and tap and sacrificing itself to destroy a target nonbasic land an opponent controls, with replacement searches allowing both players to fetch a basic land. The ability can be used as a land destruction tool in decks that want to disrupt opponents' mana bases while still providing a basic land tempo effect.
