Torrent Sculptor // Flamethrower Sonata is a modal double-faced rare from Strixhaven that is a {2}{U}{U} Merfolk Wizard on its front and a {1}{R} sorcery on its back. The front has Ward {2} and exiles an instant or sorcery from your graveyard to put half its mana value, rounded up, in +1/+1 counters on the creature. The back discards then draws and, if an instant or sorcery was discarded, deals damage equal to that card’s mana value to a target opposing creature or planeswalker.
