It has Devour 2, allowing you to sacrifice creatures as it enters so it enters with +1/+1 counters, and a triggered upkeep ability that makes a 1/1 Saproling for each +1/+1 counter on it. As a midrange threat it can convert a sacrificed board into a large persistent token generator across turns.
