It is indestructible, remains a noncreature unless your combined devotion to black and red is seven or more, and punishes each opponent at the beginning of their upkeep by dealing 2 damage unless they sacrifice a creature. As a result, it serves both as a late-game threat when devotion is high and as recurring pressure against opponents' boards in black-red strategies.
