Surprise Deployment (PLS-18) is a white instant from the Planeshift expansion. It lets you put a nonwhite creature from your hand onto the battlefield during combat and then returns that creature to your hand at the beginning of the next end step. This effect is optional when it resolves and functions as a temporary, combat-timed deployment for surprise blockers or attackers.
