Profane Command (NCC-256) is a rare black sorcery from the New Capenna Commander set that uses an X cost alongside two black mana. When cast you choose two modes that scale with X, including life loss to a player, returning a creature with mana value X or less from your graveyard, giving a creature -X/-X, or granting up to X creatures fear until end of turn. Its modal, scalable design makes it useful for both removal and recursion roles in black decks, especially in multiplayer Commander where flexible answers and graveyard recursion are valuable.
