Unexplained Absence (MKC-17) is a white instant. When cast it can exile up to one nonland permanent controlled by each player and then cloak the top card of each affected library, putting those cards onto the battlefield face down as 2/2 creatures with ward 2. The effect functions as a wide removal tool while generating hidden face-down creatures that can later be turned face up for additional value.
