The Monarch (MKC 31) is a normal-layout card from the Murders at Karlov Manor Commander set that represents the Monarch role. It causes you to draw a card at the beginning of your end step and makes a creature's controller become the monarch whenever that creature deals combat damage to you. As a role card, it interacts with monarch-triggered effects and can change game tempo by shifting card-draw to whoever holds the monarch.
