Soul Echo (MIR-40) is a white enchantment from Mirage that enters the battlefield with X echo counters based on its casting cost. It replaces damage to you by removing echo counters instead, and your upkeep forces an opponent to choose whether the replacement applies for each 1 damage until your next upkeep; if there are no counters on upkeep you must sacrifice it. This card creates a resource-management interaction where opponents decide whether to allow damage prevention at the cost of depleting the enchantment, and multiple copies interact by opponent selection and your choice of which chosen copy handles damage.
