Ebon Praetor (ME2-89) is a black Creature — Avatar Praetor from Masters Edition II. It has first strike and trample and accrues a −2/−2 counter each upkeep while allowing you to sacrifice a creature during upkeep to remove one such counter and grant a +1/+0 if the sacrificed creature was a Thrull. Its upkeep-triggered counter mechanic creates a recurring cost/benefit interaction that can be exploited with token or Thrull-sacrifice synergies.
