The Siege enters with a triggered ability that gains you 4 life and lets you draw a card, and when it loses its last defense counter it is exiled then may be cast transformed without paying its mana cost. The transformed back face is a 4/4 Angel with flying and vigilance, providing an evasive, defensive-body after the Siege is defeated.
