Shield Broker (PRM 99879) is a blue Creature — Octopus Advisor from the Magic Online Promos set. When it enters the battlefield it puts a shield counter on a noncommander creature an opponent controls and you gain control of that creature while the shield counter remains; a shield counter prevents a single instance of damage or destruction by being removed instead. Its five mana cost and 3/4 body position it as a midrange tempo piece that steals a blocker or key threat temporarily for value or combat advantage.
