It grants itself the activated ability {2}{U}{U}: Return this creature to its owner's hand, and it copies any enter-the-battlefield characteristics of the chosen creature when it enters. As a copy effect it can mimic tokens or other copies but won’t copy temporary modifications like counters, auras, or tapped state.
