Excommunicate (M10 10, foil) is a white sorcery from the Magic 2010 core set. It puts target creature on top of its owner's library, effectively removing it from the battlefield without a permanent exile or graveyard interaction. As a three-mana instant-speed removal is not provided, it serves as a tempo/removal option best used when you can afford the sorcery timing and want to disrupt an opponent's board while leaving their graveyard intact.
