As this enchantment enters, you lose life equal to your life total. You don't lose the game for having 0 or less life. If you would gain life, draw that many cards instead. Whenever you're dealt damage, sacrifice that many nontoken permanents. If you can't, you lose the game. When this enchantment is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, you lose the game.

Lich (LEA-113) is a black Enchantment from Limited Edition Alpha that replaces life gain with card draw and prevents loss for having 0 or less life. As it enters you lose your life total, you draw cards instead of gaining life, and taking damage forces you to sacrifice nontoken permanents with a final triggered loss if Lich leaves the battlefield. Its high-risk, combo-oriented exchange of life for card advantage defines a unique control/assembly role in decks that can tolerate or work around the self-destruct conditions.
