Thriving Grubs (KLD 138) is a common red Creature — Gremlin from the Kaladesh expansion. When it enters the battlefield you get two energy counters, and it has an attack-triggered option to pay two energy to put a +1/+1 counter on itself. Its low cost and ability to grow with energy make it a cheap aggressive piece that can scale into a larger threat with energy synergies.
