Spell Swindle (XLN-82) is a rare Instant from the Ixalan expansion. When it resolves it can counter a target spell and creates a number of Treasure artifact tokens equal to that spell's mana value. Official rulings clarify that for spells with {X} in their cost you use the chosen X to determine the number of Treasures, and you still get Treasures even if the target can't be countered.
