Hostage Taker (XLN-223) is a rare Creature — Human Pirate from Ixalan. When it enters the battlefield it temporarily exiles another target creature or artifact and lets you cast that card while it remains exiled, using any color of mana to cast it. The exiled permanent returns immediately to its owner if Hostage Taker leaves the battlefield, creating a tempo- and value-oriented role in midrange or control decks.
