Whenever a creature or land becomes tapped, put an hourglass counter on it. Each permanent with an hourglass counter on it doesn't untap during its controller's untap step. At the beginning of each player's upkeep, remove all hourglass counters from permanents that player controls.

Temporal Distortion (INV 79, Rare, foil) is a blue enchantment from the Invasion set that puts hourglass counters on creatures and lands when they become tapped. Permanents with hourglass counters don’t untap during their controller’s untap step, and all counters a player controls are removed at the beginning of that player’s upkeep. This creates recurring tempo control by forcing tapped permanents to remain tapped for a turn unless the counters are otherwise removed.
