Pithing Needle (MID-257, Artifact, Rare) is a one-mana artifact from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. As it enters the battlefield you choose a card name, and activated abilities of sources with that name can’t be activated except for mana abilities. It’s commonly used to shut down key activated abilities from permanents, cards in other zones, or opponent strategies by naming disruptive pieces.
