The enchanted creature gains defender and is prevented from dealing combat damage, and you can pay {2}{W} and sacrifice Candletrap to exile the enchanted creature if you control three creatures with different powers. As an Aura that can neutralize one attacker or remove a problematic creature via its coven cost, it serves defensive and removal-support roles in decks that can meet coven's requirement.
