The Egg has defender, lets you scry 2 when it enters, and has a delayed return trigger that returns it transformed when sacrificed; the Serpent can be made unblockable for a turn by sacrificing two Islands. The card can serve as a defensive blocker that sets up future value or as a late-game evasive threat after transformation.
