Shadow Slice (GTC 77 foil) is a black sorcery from Gatecrash that deals direct life loss to an opponent and carries the Cipher keyword. Its Cipher ability lets you exile the card encoded on a creature you control and create a copy to cast whenever that creature deals combat damage to a player, effectively allowing repeated use if the encoded creature deals damage multiple times. Introduced in Gatecrash as part of the Return to Ravnica block, an example of the cipher mechanic.
