It enters with ten ice counters and lets you remove counters with a activated ability, and when it has no ice counters you sacrifice it to create Marit Lage, a legendary 20/20 black Avatar token with flying and indestructible. Its interaction is a state-trigger and it does not have a mana ability, so it won’t tap for mana and can be disrupted by removing it before the trigger resolves.
