It uses a Station mechanic that lets you tap another creature to put charge counters on the Frigate and grants incremental bonuses at 2+ and becomes an artifact creature with flying and lifelink at 12+ counters. In play it functions as a support vehicle that buffs other creatures and can transform into a flying lifelink threat once sufficiently charged.
