It destroys a target creature and, if that creature card goes to a graveyard this way, returns it to the battlefield under your control then forces you to sacrifice it at the beginning of your next end step. The spell creates a temporary creature-steal effect useful for value plays, combat tricks, or triggering enters-the-battlefield and sacrifice synergies.
