It gains phyresis counters whenever your creatures die and becomes a Phyrexian creature if it has four or more counters, and it has flying while a creature. Its triggered ability can add counters and either scry 1 or draw a card once it reaches seven counters, enabling incremental card advantage and incentive to sacrifice or lose creatures.
