Shriveling Rot (DST-54, Rare) is a black instant from Darksteel that offers modal choices with an Entwine option. One mode makes all creatures destroyed when dealt damage that turn, while the other causes controllers to lose life equal to toughness when creatures die that turn. Paying the Entwine cost lets you use both effects in the same turn, turning it into a powerful mass-control spell.
