Its +1 abilities grant deathtouch and lifelink to a creature and optionally sacrifice-triggered damage and life gain, and its −3 lets you put a Vampire creature from your hand onto the battlefield. The card supports Vampire tribal strategies by adding counters to Vampires and enabling tempo swings via free reanimation and targeted damage.
