At the beginning of each end step, if an opponent lost 2 or more life this turn, you may put a quest counter on this enchantment. (Damage causes loss of life.) Whenever a card is put into an opponent's graveyard from anywhere, if this enchantment has three or more quest counters on it, you may have that player lose 2 life. If you do, you gain 2 life.

Bloodchief Ascension (CMM-139 foil) is a black enchantment reprinted in Commander Masters. It accumulates quest counters at each end step if a single opponent lost 2 or more life that turn and, once it has three or more counters, lets you make an opponent lose 2 life and you gain 2 whenever a card is put into that opponent’s graveyard from anywhere. In decks it functions as a recurring drain engine that rewards graveyard interaction and repeated life-loss effects to reach and leverage three counters.
