Jared Carthalion, True Heir (CMR 601, Rare) is a legendary Human Warrior from Commander Legends that costs R G W and is connected to the monarch mechanic. When it enters the battlefield it makes a target opponent the monarch and prevents you from becoming the monarch that turn; while you are the monarch, damage to Jared is prevented and converted into that many +1/+1 counters. It functions as a midrange commander or companion piece that both manipulates who draws from the monarch role and grows itself when protecting you as monarch.
